What I liked

The people were great and I learned a lot about the company. PwC really handled the virtual internship well by giving us an agenda of the week. I met all sorts of people. It was a good way for me to make my decision on whether to return or not.

What I wish was different

I just wish I could've interned in person, but given the pandemic I knew it wasn't viable.

What I liked

I liked that I actually had the opportunity to learn and utilize different softwares that are actually used on a day to day basis. It made me feel as though I was one step ahead for life in the accounting field after graduation. Got the opportunity to network with many different people and got great advice.

What I wish was different

I wish it was longer. I had an amazing time.

Advice

I feel less nervous about graduating. I feel as though I have an idea on where i'm headed and after all of the amazing advise I was given I know what steps to take to achieve the personal goals that I have.

What I liked

I liked the type of opportunities presented to us such as networking with highly successful individuals, or attending cool events organized by the firm. I also liked how we had the opportunity to shadow other individuals in areas that we are interested in.

What I wish was different

I wish the work we were given was slightly more tailored to our interests, but the program is just about learning about the firm and the business.

Advice

If someone were to apply for this program I would say just try and absorb as much as you can throughout the summer. You will learn so much about different lines of service, different technical information within each line of service, and so much more. Also don't be afraid to talk to people, use the summer as a chance to grow your network.

Internal Firm Services Intern

What I liked

I got to experience the different lines of service within the firm such as Assurance and Tax while simultaneously working within the Global Office of the General Counsel for the firm. Specifically, I was working with the Business Operational Services Risk & Legal (BOS) team. I also loved the company culture at the Firm because people who were more senior than I were always willing to give me advice or lend a hand.

What I wish was different

I wish there was a way for the internship program to make sure everyone was occupied with tasks. Sometimes my peers would go a week or longer without work and sometimes I felt it wasn't fair to be evaluated on the same criteria as some of them.

Advice

Go for it! The worst that could happen is you reapply next year. You never know! :)

What I liked

I had a lot of hands-on experience with auditing in the tech sector. My teams provided me with a lot of support and PwC conducted roughly 2 weeks of training and one 4 day trip to Disney World (one day at the park itself but a concert and interesting seminars).

What I wish was different

I had a great experience, however some of my friends had no assignments for the whole summer. They still learned about the company but didn't get the hands-on experience they wanted.

Advice

Be upfront with your coach and buddy. If you are having an issue they are there to help you and will be receptive.

My favorite part about this internship is that I was immediately exposed to real client assignments and tasks that I will work on when I actually begin my employment with them this coming Fall.

What I wish was different

I wish that I had more time to work with them. I only had around 6 weeks of on-client work and I wish it had been around 10.

Advice

I wish I had heard about these opportunities earlier than two weeks before the applications were due.

I would share that you don’t need to be advanced or even proficient in auditing or tax to get an internship or a permanent position with PwC. You just have to work hard and have a positive attitude. They love to see a person you is putting forth their best effort and is trying!

I loved the work that I was doing and the people I was doing that work with. All of the members on my team were so helpful and inspiring. They always encouraged me and it was evident that they really wanted me to succeed and walk away from my internship knowing that I learned a lot.

Honestly nothing. It was the perfect length, the pay was amazing, and the people were so awesome.

Advice

Make the most out of every learning opportunity, experience, and conversation you have. You will learn so much more if you put in that extra effort and the people that you work with will notice it. The connections you make will last a lifetime.
