The Center for Connected Health Policy is hiring an Intern for a 3-month limited term position.

Despite growing evidence that technology-enabled, health care (telehealth) can improve care quality experiences, overall population health, and per capita costs to the system, several factors hinder the expanded use of these technologies. A thorough examination of this evidence could eliminate many of the barriers to use by promoting cross-sector dialogue, informing future policy and practice, and shaping future research study design. With this potential in mind, CCHP is working to collect, organize, and objectively present the current body of evidence supporting telehealth’s contributions to the Triple Aim. CCHP has initiated a process to identify and organize the research evidence base for telehealth care in literature and practice. This internship will require the incumbant to update existing catalogues with studies published in the past year as well as creation of additional catalogue(s) for other specialties. The completed and updated research catalogs will be made available on CCHP's website and featured in an email blast to CCHP’s 6,000 subscribers.

Established in 2008 by the California Health Care Foundation, The Center for Connected Health Policy (CCHP) is dedicated to integrating telehealth virtual technologies into the health care system through advancing sound policy based on objective research and informed practices. Originally focused exclusively on California telehealth policy, CCHP garnered extensive attention with its Telehealth Model Statute Report, which became the basis for the California Telehealth Advancement Act of 2011 (AB 415). In 2012, CCHP’s scope grew to include national telehealth policy issues as it became the federally designated National Telehealth Policy Resource Center (NTRC-P). In this capacity CCHP serves as an independent center of excellence in telehealth policy providing technical assistance to twelve federally funded regional Telehealth Resource Centers (TRC), state and federal policy makers, national organizations, health systems, providers, and the public.

CCHP actively researches and analyzes important telehealth policy issues, engages influential public and private sectors through analyses and reports, and provides key telehealth policy resources nationwide. CCHP acts as a catalyst for change by providing non-partisan, unbiased, researched-based policy analyses and bringing policy makers together with private health care sector, health plans, academic researchers, and consumer health advocates to create successful models of connected care, that lead to more transparent systems of communication between providers and patients which can lead to better health outcomes and greater efficiencies in the delivery system.

• Research for new studies that fall into the above categories; critical analysis of telehealth studies found; categorization of research studies previously found by CCHP; assist in the design and construction of Telehealth policy research catalog; creation of a PowerPoint presentation that speaks to the research catalog project.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Currently enrolled in a Undergraduate program (Junior or above) or Graduate Degree Program

• Interest and Background in Research

• Health Policy and/or Healthcare knowledge

• Familiarity with publication databases

• Critical analysis skills

• Excellent writing and communication skills

• Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator and/or Publisher.

• Attention to detail

• This is a 3-month position part-time (24 hours per week) position located in Sacramento, CA.

• Work schedule is 4 days a week 9-3pm
