Position Description

Acadiana CARES, in conjunction with the Louisiana Office of Public Health, Immunization Program is currently seeking an individual to work with the program to improve HPV immunization rates and raise awareness of HPV in areas across the State of Louisiana. This position is based in New Orleans, and travels to various parts of the state. The incumbent meets with healthcare providers to initiate quality improvement approaches that increase HPV immunization rates and disease control objectives. He/she also reaches out to schools, and universities as well as local and state civic groups and private organizations to solicit their cooperation and support for the Immunization program activities. An integral part of this person’s responsibility is to promote assessment, feedback, and information exchange among all vaccine providers.

A successful candidate must have excellent communication and organizational skills, and a working knowledge of personal computers and various software programs to include MS Word, Excel, and Access. A bachelor’s degree is required but a master’s degree in Public Health is preferable. Applicant must possess a valid Louisiana driver's license at time of appointment. This position is currently funded for one year with the possibility of extension with additional funding
